Glass is not just handy, formable and multifunctional. The main reason why we just use glass bottles for our fritz-kola is because of Mother Nature. Glass offers the qualification for recycling, meaning that it can be completely recycled. We like that and we don't want to deny you an environmentally-friendly conscious.
In contrast: polyethylene terephthalate (PET) can just be recycled to 72%. Additionally, the average life of glass is much higher than the life of PET.
We aren't just assured of glass because it belongs to the oldest materials known to mankind. Plenty of other advantages have convinced us to use this ingenious material:
On one hand, glass is odourless and tasteless. This is pretty important in comparison with PET, because plasticizer and acetalaldehyd are released during production. They are released, for example, under ultraviolet rays and spoil the beverage.
Another disadvantage of PET is the fact, that it is permeable to gas. Carbon dioxide, aerial oxygen and water vapor have the ability to penetrate the bottle and release an oxidative compound wich is degratative to the bottle's ingredients.
All of these factors can affect the quality of our fritz-kola and our fritz-lemonade. We don't wish this on you or our drinks!
Of course we are aware about the fact, that glass is much heavily than PET. Therefore we try to bottling our drinks environmentally friendly. This means we try to keep the route of transport low to minimize the carbon dioxide output. Our environment is quite important to us!
